چکیده

Education can benefit from the use of technology in the teaching process. This has been done in the past using various technologies. In recent years, computers, information systems, multimedia and hypertext systems have been used to develop self-learning environments (CAI, CAL, CBT systems). A drawback of these environments is the lack of interaction to the desired degree. With the use of new technologies like computer networks and networked hypermedia systems, new networked learning environments can be built that alleviate this problem. One such novel Networked Learning Environment is presented in this paper. Its most valuable components are the World Wide Web, the HYPER-G system and the Internet.

Investigating Predictors of High School Students’ Negative Attitudes Towards Learning English by Developing, Validating, and Running a Questionnaire

The purpose of this study was to explore the predictors of negative attitudes towards learning English from L2 learners’ points of view. A mixed methods research approach was adopted with a sequential exploratory design, followed by an endorsement phase. Eighteen high school students in Fars province (Iran) were interviewed on the sources of negative attitudes towards learning English. Based on...

The Challenge of Learning for Networked SMEs to Increase Competitiveness in Virtual Enterprises

Collaborative Networked Organisations (CNO) face the same if not even harder problems when trying to transform towards a learning organisation. Small and medium sized organisations which still represent the motor for job creation in Europe often respond to market turbulence by engaging in nonhierarchical CNOs such as Virtual Enterprises. A proven method to support learning in distributed set-up...

Neural-Smith Predictor Method for Improvement of Networked Control Systems

Networked control systems (NCSs) are distributed control systems in which the nodes, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and plants are connected by a digital communication network such as the Internet. One of the most critical challenges in networked control systems is the stochastic time delay of arriving data packets in the communication network among the nodes. Using the Smith predic...

What did the Romans ever do for us? 'Next generation' networks and hybrid learning resources

Networked learning is fundamentally concerned with the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to link people to people and resources, to support the process of learning. This paper explores some current and forthcoming changes in ICT and some potential implications of these developments for networked learning. Whilst we aim to avoid taking a technologically determinist stance, ...
